Barcelona transfer news: Bayern Munich ace Leon Goretzka explains Nou Camp snub
BAYERN MUNICH new boy Leon Goretzka has revealed he has no regrets about turning down a big-money move to Barcelona.
Goretzka on Bayern Munich signing: I'm hungry for success
Goretzka signed a pre-contract agreement with the German champions in January after opting against penning a new deal with Schalke.
Barcelona were also interested in acquiring the German international's services but failed to land the talented midfielder.
The 23-year-old was immensely flattered by the Spanish giant’s interest in him but believes he made the right choice by moving to the Allianz Arena.
“That was an honour, of course," Goretzka told the media at his unveiling when asked about Barcelona’s interest in signing him.
"I had several options and took a lot of time for my decision and believe that I have made the best choice with Bayern.
"I see myself as a No.8, but I'm flexible. I'm ready to play in different positions.
"I have a very positive impression of [head coach Niko] Kovac. Everything else will come over the next few days."

Goretzka is relishing the new challenge in front of him adding: “I am very hungry to achieve something with this team.
“We have already worked hard for a week with Peter Hermann. Now I am happy to meet all the others," he said.
“The acclimatisation in the new environment and team was very easy for him, because he had spent the previous summer anyway with the German national team.
“In addition, the vintage '95 is strongly represented here, I know the guys for a very long time.”
Bayern kick off their Bundesliga campaign a week on Sunday away to Eintracht Frankfurt.
Barca, meanwhile, welcome Alaves to the Nou Camp two weeks on Saturday.
