Arsenal news: Arsene Wenger not happy with Hector Bellerin after he said this - Nicol
ARSENE WENGER will not be happy with Hector Bellerin after the Arsenal star admitted the squad were working harder than ever before this pre-season, claims Steve Nicol.
Hector Bellerin: 'Crazy' to suggest he will leave Arsenal
Wenger left Arsenal after 22 years at the end of last season.
The legendary Frenchman was replaced by Unai Emery who has, it seems, already made a big impact on the training field.
Bellerin claimed there has been a big change to the coaching sessions and says he and his fellow players are being put put through their paces more than under Wenger.
“We’re working harder than we used to work,” the Spaniard told ESPN.
If I’m Wenger I don’t like listening to that type of thing
“We’re doing a lot of work in the gym. Obviously we always used to do that, but I think it’s turned up a notch.”
Bellerin’s comments have not sat well with Liverpool legend Nicol, who says Arsene Wenger will not like what he has heard.
“I don’t think Wenger will have enjoyed listening to that,” Nicol told ESPN FC.
“It kind of seems as though he’s too happy to let you know how things have all changed.
“I don’t think Wenger’s going to like listening to him doing that.
“He doesn’t owe him anything, I just don’t like the tone of it.
“It’s almost like ‘oh this is great, we’ve changed this and we’re doing that, we’re working harder’.
“If I’m Wenger I don’t like listening to that type of thing.”
