Transfer news: Arsenal, West Ham and Everton battle to sign Dennis Praet
ARSENAL, West Ham and Everton are in a battle to sign Sampdoria winger Dennis Praet.
The Belgian is no stranger to interest from the Premier League after being heavily linked with Newcastle in January.
Rafa Benitez's side wouldn't meet Praet's €25m (£22m) release clause, causing talks to collapse.
However, a trio of English sides are once again in the market for the Sampdoria star.
But according to CalcioMercato, Arsenal, West Ham and Everton all face a race against time to sign Praet this summer.
The midfielder's €25 (£22m) release clause expires during the first week of August, meaning the Serie A side can then turn down any bids they receive for their star man.
However, Sampdoria president Massimo Ferrero is willing to accept bids of €30m (£26.6m) that could be paid in a number of instalments.
Juventus previously led the race for Praet but talk of an agreement between both parties has gone cold recently.
Arsenal have already opened a channel of communication with Sampdoria this summer after signing Lucas Torreira earlier this month.
But the Gunners will this time be challenged by the Hammers and Marco Silva's Everton, who both want to strengthen ahead of the new Premier League campaign.
Manuel Pellegrini has already brought in half a dozen new additions since taking over at the London Stadium in May.
Meanwhile, Everton have just spent upwards of £40m on Watford star Richarlison.
