Man Utd transfer news: Harry Maguire drops Leicester exit hint
MANCHESTER UNITED transfer target Harry Maguire has hinted he may be open to leaving Leicester this summer.
The defender enjoyed a solid World Cup campaign alongside John Stones and Kyle Walker at the heart of England's backline, leading to interest from some of the Premier League's biggest names.
Maguire has been heavily linked with a move to United this summer, as Jose Mourinho looks to reinforce his defence.
Leicester, however, will be hoping to keep hold of the 25-year-old after losing key man Riyad Mahrez to Manchester City last week.
But Maguire admits he is an 'ambitious player' who wants to play at the highest level.
Every player wants to play at the highest level
"Every player wants to play at the highest level," he told the Sun.
"I’ve just come back from playing at a World Cup, where I really enjoyed the high pressure of the games.
"It was something that I really thrived off.
"Leicester have been unbelievable to me and I’m really happy there but I’m also an ambitious player and everyone wants to play at the top."
David Seaman: Man United would suit Harry Maguire
After reports this week suggested Mourinho had turned his attention away from Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld, United are now the clear favourites to sign Maguire.
Some firms have slashed odds on the former Hull man quitting Leicester for Old Trafford from 10/1 to 11/10.
Maguire is still enjoying some downtime after England's eventful campaign in Russia.
