MANCHESTER UNITED are facing a minor injury crisis ahead of the new season after Antonio Valencia limped off against San Jose Earthquakes.
Manchester United are sweating over the fitness of Antonio Valencia after the Ecuadorian limped out of their pre-season clash with San Jose Earthquakes.
Valencia managed just seven minutes of the stalemate at Levi’s Stadium before being forced off as the Red Devils face mounting injury problems.
The extent of Valencia’s injury is not yet known, but Jose Mourinho confirmed on Thursday that summer signing Diogo Dalot will be out until September with a knee problem.
That leaves Matteo Darmian as United’s only fit senior right-back, although the Italian has been linked with a move to Napoli.
Meanwhile, Brazilian midfielder Fred did not feature at the World Cup after picking up an injury in training but is expected to begin work with his new team-mates this week.
