Liverpool US tour squad: Will Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Xherdan Shaqiri play?
LIVERPOOL flew out to the United States in the early hours of Saturday morning for a three-game tour of America.
Liverpool: James Milner reveals what he's taking on tour
The Reds will once again take part in the International Champions Cup with clashes against Borussia Dortmund, Manchester City and Manchester United over the next seven days.
Their Stateside fixtures follow a four-game tour of the north west having faced Chester, Tranmere, Bury and Blackburn in local clashes.
Summer signings Naby Keita and Fabinho were the main attractions across those warm-ups with the World Cup having limited the amount of first-team stars available to Jurgen Klopp despite the Premier League season starting in three weeks.
But his 29-man travelling contingent for trips to North Carolina, New Jersey and Michigan is boosted by the returns of several big names.
Star man Mohamed Salah re-joined his team-mates at the club’s Melwood training ground alongside Sadio Mane and Marko Grujic yesterday.
The trio were all in World Cup action for Egypt, Senegal and Serbia but were knocked out in the group stages in Russia.
They were afforded three weeks’ holiday after being eliminated but will be back for Liverpool’s week-long stint across the Atlantic.
Klopp revealed recently that Salah and Mane are unlikely to face either Dortmund in Charlotte on Sunday (9.05pm) or City in East Rutherford on Thursday (1.05am).
Instead, they are in line to return against United next Saturday (10.05pm).
Klopp said: "It makes not too much sense that they play the 22nd or the 25th [US date]. Maybe three days later in ‘the derby’ they can play."
Another exciting addition to the team is summer signing Xherdan Shaqiri, who will make his first Reds run out after a £13.75million switch from Stoke City.
It is expected that the Swiss ace will miss out against Dortmund on Sunday (9.05pm) as he continues to enjoy time off after the World Cup, but he will be part of the group for the second leg of the trip.
The club have confirmed that Danny Ings has not travelled, the want-away striker struggling with blisters and an ankle injury that have forced him to miss their last three warm-up contests.
Ryan Kent is another absentee with the young winger set to join Steven Gerrard’s Rangers on a season-long loan deal.
Divock Origi travels despite links with a permanent transfer to Newcastle, while there is a place for forgotten man Lazar Markovic - who scored a well-taken goal at Blackburn earlier this week but has not played competitively for the club since May 2015.
