Man Utd transfer news: Ex-Red Devil predicts Jose Mourinho’s next signing
MANCHESTER UNITED boss Jose Mourinho will only make one more signing this summer - and it will be a striker.
Man United: Mourinho says he has no idea about future signings
That is the opinion of Sky Sports pundit and former Manchester United midfielder Michael Appleton.
Mourinho has so far brought in two new players in Brazil international Fred and young Portuguese full-back Diogo Dalot.
United have been linked with moves for Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic and Juventus left-back Alex Sandro.
But Appleton cannot see those happening and says up front is where Mourinho will look to strengthen.
I think it will be a striker and I think that will be the only signing they make
“It seems they are looking for a striker at this moment in time,” Appleton told Sky Sports News.
“I’ve heard him talking about them needing more firepower.
“You look at the disappointment they had towards the end of the season in the FA Cup.
“Some of the young players that have come in, the likes of (Marcus) Rashford, they’ve got a year more experience.
“I think it will be a striker and I think that will be the only signing they make.”
Jose Mourinho confirmed on Wednesday Dalot will not be fit until September.
The 19-year-old has suffered a knee injury in pre-season.
