Sarri oversees Jorginho and co in Chelsea training as forgotten men battle to impress boss
MAURIZIO SARRI has taken charge of his first training session since being appointed Chelsea manager.
Maurizio Sarri has already got down to work on the training pitch after taking over from Antonio Conte as Chelsea manager.
The Italian was appointed on Saturday and immediately signed midfielder Jorginho from former club Napoli.
Sarri put Jorginho and his new team-mates through their paces at Cobham this afternoon, with a number of less well-known faces spotted during the session.
The Blues’ host of loanees have all returned ahead of the 2018/19 campaign, and several will hope to impress the new gaffer enough to force their way into the first team.
Striker Tammy Abraham could provide an alternative to the misfiring Alvaro Morata, while fellow Chelsea youngsters such as Tomas Kalas and Charly Musonda were also present.
Meanwhile, David Luiz was refusing to hold back as the Brazilian aims to catch Sarri’s eye, having fallen out of favour under Conte.
