Chelsea transfer news: Gonzalo Higuain meeting on Wednesday, three-year contract ready
CHELSEA could conclude a deal for Gonzalo Higuain, according to an Italian journalist.
Higuain has cropped up as a Chelsea target after falling out of favour at Juventus.
With Alvaro Morata failing to hit the mark at Stamford Bridge last term, the Blues striker could head for the exit door.
Reports last week suggested Juventus snubbed a proposal from Chelsea to swap Higuain with Morata.
After clinching a deal for Cristiano Ronaldo, Juve could sell Higuain for around £52m to help pay off his transfer fee.
It has been believed that Higuain will request a £6.2m pay-out as part of any deal for him to be sold.
It’s ready a 3-years contract (€7,5M at year adds bonus)
And Italian journalist Giulia Stronati has provided an interesting development when she tweeted: “On Wednesday there will be new contacts between #Higuain ‘s agent and #Chelsea to finalize the deal.
“It’s ready a 3-years contract (€7,5M at year adds bonus).
“Blues will pay €60M to #Juventus. #transfers #CFC.”
Last week, Fabio Capello hinted Higuain could join Chelsea.
Chelsea target Higuain shows goalscoring prowess for Juventus
He said: “I think Higuain will leave and I think he’s heading towards Chelsea, where Maurizio Sarri is waiting with open arms.
“Cristiano Ronaldo’s arrival is very important for Italian football, a work of genius for Juventus and for all of Italy.
“It also represents an investment that will certainly improve the club on a financial level too. Ronaldo is a money-making machine and brings definite business to Juventus.”
