Paul Pogba: Jose Mourinho given advice after Man Utd star lifts the World Cup
MANCHESTER UNITED boss Jose Mourinho has been told to get the best out of Paul Pogba after his impressive World Cup campaign.
The midfielder scored in the final, as France eased to a 4-2 victory over Croatia in Moscow.
Pogba's performances for his country have been heavily praised, while pundits have repeatedly criticised the player when playing club football.
And BBC pundit Rio Ferdinand believes Mourinho needs to start getting the best out of the 25-year-old for United.
"Pogba was immense - especially in the second half," he said.
"The pressure was on and he has to come to the fore, there's a huge price tag to his name.
It's down to Jose now to unlock this Pogba we saw at the World Cup
"He has had a tough season in terms of the media and people from within the game calling him out in a Manchester United shirt.
"It's down to Jose now to unlock this Pogba we saw at the World Cup because he was responsible, he stood up to a lot of hard tests in midfield and was a talisman for this team.
"You use negative energy sometimes as fuel and that's where he is at."
Ferdinand also believes United should sign Kylian Mbappe due to his connection with Pogba.
The Frenchman also netted today, becoming only the second teenager in history to score in a World Cup final.
Mbappe also scooped the Young Player of the Tournament award after his impressive showings in Russia.
"He is the guy who will be standing up on that Ballon d'Or podium in years to come," Ferdinand send.
"I hope my old club are chasing him.
"He has that connection with Paul Pogba too."
