Tottenham transfer news: Real Madrid to offer £132m AND Bale for Harry Kane - expert
REAL MADRID are willing to offer £132million AND Gareth Bale in a bid to sign Harry Kane, it's sensationally been claimed.
United is Bale's most likely destination says football writer
Transfer expert Ian McGarry says Real Madrid are so desperate to get Kane to the Bernabeu that they will make the incredible offer to try and make it happen.
Gareth Bale left Spurs for a then world-record fee of £85million in 2013 and he has won four Champions League titles since.
But he spent last season battling against injury and Zinedine Zidane, who saw him as a squad player.
Real Madrid have sold Crisitano Ronaldo and are on the hunt for a new signing to replace him. PSG's Kylian Mbappe is an alternative target.
"With Mbappe it’s complicated but Real Madrid are fairly confident they can pursue him with some success but they are not entirely sure that is going to happen," McGarry told the Transfer Window podcast.
"If you don’t get Mbappe, where do you go next? The most obvious one is to go to Harry Kane.
"They’ve been told he’s not for sale and know Daniel Levy is a very difficult person to negotiate with.
"It’s been suggested to me, Real Madrid would be willing to offer Gareth Bale plus €150m to Tottenham (for Kane).
"But in the knowledge that Gareth Bale isn’t that keen on going back to Tottenham.
"I think Levy has said privately that they don’t see Bale as a very good fit into what has now become a young, dynamic team.
"And Bale at 28 with his recent missing game time through injuries might not be a good investment for Tottenham."
