Kieran Trippier: Tottenham send star message after stunning World Cup goal
KIERAN TRIPPIER scored a stunning goal for England in their World Cup clash with Croatia - and drew the praise of his club Tottenham.
Trippier fired home a free-kick just five minutes in to send the nation into delirium.
England are playing in their first World Cup semi-final since 1990.
Trippier has enjoyed a magnificent tournament and the right-wing back and has been one of England’s main set-piece takers.
He delivered for his country just when they needed him and Spurs immediately praised their defender.
“What a strike, @trippier2!” they tweeted, with a video of the player.

Tottenham then posted images of Trippier’s excellent strike.
England icon Sir Trevor Brooking was watching the match for the BBC.
He said: “As soon as he hit it, the whole Croatia wall jumped and it just cleared them. What a start.”
