LUCAS TORREIRA has completed his move to Arsenal from Sampdoria.
Arsenal confirm the signing of Lucas Torreira
Torreira arrives at the Emirates on a long-term deal for a fee in the region of £26million.
Arsenal unveiled their new man in a Uruguay-themed video on their social media accounts.
It referenced the lion tattoo he has on his arm and carried the hashtag #TimeforTorreira.
Torreira completed his medical with Arsenal yesterday after returning from the World Cup with Uruguay.
He featured in all five matches before they were knocked out in the quarter-finals to France.
Arsenal head coach Unai Emery believes the club have signed a bright, young talent for the future.
“In Lucas Torreira, we have signed a young player who is a very bright talent in the game,” he said.
“A midfielder with great quality, I have enjoyed watching his performances for Sampdoria in the past two seasons, and we all saw him do very well for Uruguay in the World Cup.

“He is a young player already with good experience, but who wants to keep on growing.
“We welcome Lucas to Arsenal and look forward to him joining us soon for pre-season.”
Arsenal’s new midfielder will wear the No 11 shirt – which was previously worn by Mesut Ozil – during his time at the club. Ozil was handed his favoured No 10 shirt after the departure of Jack Wilshere.
Torreira will now have a post-World Cup break and is due to link up with his new team-mates in August.
The 22-year-old’s move is still subject to "regulatory processes" but he is set to become Emery's fourth signing since replacing Arsene Wenger.
Torreira follows the likes of Stephan Lichtsteiner, Bernd Leno and Sokratis Papastathopoulos.
