Eden Hazard: Belgium star makes Kylian Mbappe revelation ahead of World Cup semi-final
EDEN HAZARD has lavished high praise on Kylian Mbappe with the two set to go head-to-head as Belgium take on France for a place in the World Cup final.
Kylian Mbappé will be 'best player in the world' says Balague
Hazard and Mbappe are likely to play crucial roles for their respective countries tomorrow night in their World Cup semi-final clash.
Mbappe announced himself on the world stage with a scintillating performance in France’s 4-3 win over Argentina at the last-16 stage, scoring two quick-fire goals.
His electric pace has terrorised defenders the entire tournament and the likes of Vincent Kompany, Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld will have to be at their best to stop the 19-year-old.
Hazard has equally been pivotal to Belgium’s success so far, scoring two and providing two assists.
He already deserves the Ballon d’Or
And despite Belgium and France battling for a place in the World Cup final, Hazard has offered some kind words for Mbappe, admitting he should be a contender to win the Ballon d’Or.
“Based on what he is showing, obviously there is Ballon d’Or capacity,” Hazard told beIN Sports France.
“In terms of potential, as well as quality, for me, yes, he already deserves the Ballon d’Or.
“I’ve spoken to him on the phone quite a few times.
“He watched footage of me when he was a kid. Now I watch footage of him.
“I have mad respect for what he does at his age. In modern football, it's unheard of."
