Chelsea want Sarri to replace their manager Antonio Conte this summer.
The appointment saga has dragged on since May, when it became apparent that Conte would be ousted from his role.
The Blues are still working on a deal to prise Sarri out of his Napoli contract, while they will have to pay Conte the £9m remaining on his deal.
But should things go smoothly today and over the weekend then Sarri could be announced on Monday.
That is according to Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who claim Sarri has been called to London by Chelsea bosses.
According to the report, the Italian is expected in the UK capital today ‘in order to organise everything possible’ ahead of Monday’s unveiling.
Corriere dello Sport claim Sarri will at the latest be in the capital by Saturday night.
Sarri, 59, is expected to bring in a number of his former players if he joins Chelsea this summer.
The Blues are yet to sign anyone in the transfer window as they wait for the managerial situation to be resolved.

Conte, meanwhile, insists he is still in charge and has drawn up a pre-season schedule for his players.
There was a request from the technical staff that all non-World Cup players return to duty for fitness testing on Saturday and Sunday.
But Conte has hit back at that request and demanded the players stick to his schedule and return next Monday.
