Arsenal transfer news: Gunners in talks to sign Ipswich wonder kid Marcelo Flores
ARSENAL are in talks to sign Ipswich wonder kid Marcelo Flores this summer, beating the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool.
The Tractor Boys managed to snare the Mexican away from the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea and Barcelona when he signed for the Championship outfit in January 2017.
Flores, 15, has been progressing well at the club since then.
And it appears Arsenal are now the latest big side to try and land the youngster.
According to the Daily Mirror, the Gunners are keen to bring Flores to the Emirates this summer, with talks underway.
Head of recruitment Sven Mislintat is the man who has eyed the teen, as he continues his overhaul of the north London outfit.
One of my ambitions is to play professionally in the Premier League
Flores spoke out recently about his aspirations, claiming he wants to play in the Premier League one day.
“One of my ambitions is to play professionally in the Premier League," he told the East Anglian Daily Times.
"But I would also like to play world-wide, in La Liga.
"Internationally, my favourite is [Lionel] Messi.
Chris Kamara: Arsenal need to strengthen their defence
"Whilst in the Premier League, I like watching Hazard - I try to model my game on them both.”
Ipswich are poised to lose another rising star in the form of 16-year-old Ben Knight.
The youngster is set to complete a £1m move to Manchester City next week.
Arsenal recently signed 15-year-old Joel Lopez from Barcelona, beating Liverpool in the race for his signature.
