Man Utd transfer news: Jose Mourinho DEMANDS chiefs step up Leonardo Bonucci chase
MANCHESTER UNITED boss Jose Mourinho has reportedly told his board to complete a deal for Leonardo Bonucci.
Mourinho is keen to improve his defence with Victor Lindelof, Phil Jones and Daley Blind all struggling last season while Eric Bailly has been plagued by injuries.
Chris Smalling has also failed to impress consistently and Italy and AC Milan star Bonucci could provide the cure to Mourinho’s frustrations.
AC Milan would want to make a profit on the Italian though having paid 42 million euros (£36m) for him just a year ago.
That could prove difficult however as UEFA prepare to impose sanctions on the Serie A side for breaching Financial Fair Play Rules.
And now Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport report Mourinho is urging Manchester United chiefs to get a deal done quickly.
PSG, Manchester City and Chelsea are also rumoured to be interested in Bonucci and Mourinho does not want a transfer battle.

United were also believed to be interested in Tottenham centre-back Toby Alderweireld though have reportedly been put off by a £75m asking price.
Valencia man Jose Gaya has also been linked with a move to Old Trafford though it’s unclear whether the La Liga side would be willing to part ways with the defender.
United have already secured the signings of Fred from Shakhtar Donetsk and Diogo Dalot from Porto.
