Switzerland team news: Predicted side vs Costa Rica at World Cup - Albanian Eagle trio fit
SWITZERLAND are set to field a full-strength side against Costa Rica after three of their players avoided bans for performing Albanian Eagle celebrations.
Switzerland boss Vladimir Petkovic had been facing the prospect of several of his stars missing out on today's clash against Costa Rica but now has the chance to field a fully-fit team.
Petkovic’s side require a draw to make sure of their place in the last 16 and will have Xherdan Shaqiri, Granit Xhaka and Stephan Lichtsteiner all available.
Xhaka and Shaqiri both scored in the 2-1 win against Serbia and were joined by Lichtsteiner in performing the controversial celebration honouring Albania.
The trio had been facing bans but have instead been fined by FIFA for “unsporting behaviour”.
Meanwhile, Mario Gavranovic could be handed a start up front at the expense of Haris Seferovic after impressing from the bench last time out.
