Christian Eriksen Denmark claim is ‘not disrespectful’ - Martin O’Neill
CHRISTIAN ERIKSEN is the clear stand-out player in Denmark’s World Cup squad - and it is not disrespectful to say it.
That is the opinion of ITV pundit and Republic of Ireland manager Martin O’Neill.
Eriksen was looking to lead Denmark into the last-16 of the World Cup this afternoon.
They needed just one point against France to secure a place in the knockout stages.
Tottenham star Eriksen scored in the 1-1 draw with Australia last Thursday and was unsurprisingly a starter against Didier Deschamps' French side.

I think they are delighted to have him in the team. He is their talisman
ITV presenter Mark Pougatch said of the playmaker: “Everyone knows Eriksen drives the Danish team, it’s as simple as that.
“It’s not disrespectful for us to say it, it’s just a fact.”
And O’Neill agreed and believes Tottenham midfielder Eriksen is a popular member of the Denmark side.
“No it’s not disrespectful at all to the rest of the team,” O’Neill said.
