I’m not totally sure that we actually know what the strongest side that France have is
And he says he still has no idea what their strongest team is.
“I’m not totally sure that we actually know what the strongest side that France have is,” he said on ITV.
“This is something that a couple of weeks ago when we played them in a friendly, when they were bringing on some fantastic players.
“You thought ‘well, what would be the starting line-up?’
“It genuinely is that difficult because they have a lot of very, very talented players individually.
“You want to try and make them as a team, they haven’t clicked.
“But if you can turn around and say that you’ve got a player coming in from Atletico Madrid, one from Paris Saint-Germain and one from Barcelona and it’s considerably weakening the team, I think you need your head examining.”
Denmark went into the clash knowing one point would be enough for qualification to the last-16.
