Man Utd transfer news: Did you see what Fred got up to on his first day?
MANCHESTER UNITED have completed the signing of Brazil midfielder Fred and this is what happened on his first day with the Red Devils.
Fred’s first day at Manchester United
Fred joins Jose Mourinho’s side from Shakhtar Donetsk, signing a five-year deal for a fee in excess of £50million.
“This is the biggest club in the world and I am delighted to be a part of this amazing team,” he said after sealing his move.
“To work with Jose Mourinho, who has won so many trophies in his time as a coach, is an opportunity not to be missed.
“I cannot wait to get started and to meet my new team-mates.
“I would like to thank everyone at Shakhtar Donetsk for everything they have done for me over the past five years.
“This is a very exciting time for me with my focus now fully on the World Cup with Brazil.”
Fred visted United’s Carrington training ground before he travelled to Russia for the World Cup.
He was seen arriving in a bright red Chevrolet before he underwent his medical.
After a visit to the club doctor it was time for a tour around the club’s facilities while being introduced to training ground staff.
Soon it was time to don the Manchester United kit for the first time before taking part in a photoshoot where he was seen showing off some impressive ball skills.
United boss Mourinho spoke of his delight of securing a move for Fred.
“Fred will complement our other midfielders' qualities,” he said.
“His creative brain and passing vision will give us another dimension to our game.
“I am very happy he is joining our club and I believe our players know how important he can be in our team.”
Fred missed Brazil's opening match of the World Cup, a 1-1 draw against Switzerland on Sunday with an ankle injury, however, he is on the bench for their game against Costa Rica today.
