Chelsea transfer news: Real Madrid have £35m Thibaut Courtois bid turned down
REAL MADRID ramped up their interest in Roma goalkeeper Alisson Becker after seeing a bid rejected for Chelsea star Thibaut Courtois, according to reports.
Real Madrid are in the market for a new goalkeeper as they have doubts over Keylor Navas.
After a few high-profile gaffes, Los Blancos want a proven shot-stopper between the sticks.
Manchester United star David de Gea had been a long-term target, but recent reports have suggested that he will sign a new deal to stay at Old Trafford.
And according to Gianluca Di Marzio, Real had a £35million bid for Courtois turned down.
While it is thought the Belgian is keen on a move to the Bernabeu as he is yet to sign a new deal with the Blues, Real have turned their attentions elsewhere.
Still I’m going to keep Liverpool in pole position
Reports have suggested that Real are closing in on a deal to sign Alisson.
However, the fee currently remains a sticking point.
Roma are demanding in excess of £75million and so far Real have supposedly only offered around £50m.
Last week, ESPN pundit Shaka Hislop hinted Alisson was Liverpool bound.
He said: “Now, my understanding was Alisson to Liverpool was almost a done deal.
“I thought he would have heard something about that by now, we haven’t.
“But still, I’m going to keep Liverpool in pole position.”
