Alisson to Liverpool: Brazil coach makes bold transfer claim about Roma star
BRAZIL goalkeeper coach Claudio Taffarel has revealed what he expects to happen to Liverpool target Alisson.
Liverpool are exploring a deal for Roma shot-stopper Alisson, who is deemed the ‘Lionel Messi of goalkeepers’.
After feeling stung by Mohamed Salah’s exit for just £39million last summer, Roma are demanding Liverpool pay £79m for the Brazil international.
The 25-year-old is one of the most sought-after keepers in the game and the Reds are interested in bringing him to Anfield with doubts persisting over Loris Karius, who made two howlers in last month’s 3-1 Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid.
But Taffarel, who won the World Cup with Brazil in 1994, doesn’t envisage Alisson leaving Roma.
I don’t know what will happen, but he said he’d be content to remain at Roma
“Alisson is very happy at Roma and the rumours of a transfer are just rumours,” he said.
“I don’t know what will happen, but he said he’d be content to remain at Roma."
Alisson, meanwhile, is hoping his future gets sorted out before the World Cup gets underway.
He added: “I think everything will be resolved before the start of the World Cup, that’s what I want.
“The truth is that I left everything in the hands of my agent.
“If everything is not resolved, it will be discussed after the World Cup.”
