Neymar forces Man Utd into launching Kylian Mbappe bid with Anthony Martial linked - claim
NEYMAR’s costly PSG transfer last summer could see Manchester United sign Kylian Mbappe, according to big reports in Spain.
Kylian Mbappe is the star of the future says Frank Leboeuf
Neymar signed for PSG from Barcelona back in August, moving to the Parc des Princes in a huge £200million transfer.
The Ligue 1 giants also forked out £166m to sign Kylian Mbappe but, in order to comply with FFP regulations, the France international could leave.
Neymar’s signing was just about approved but PSG were widely condemned for spending so much on the Brazil international.
In order to balance the books, Mbappe may be offloaded to ensure they stay within UEFA’s guidelines.
And Spanish outlet Don Balon say Manchester United are desperate to sign the youngster.
Mbappe burst onto the scene for Monaco in 2017, scoring 26 goals from 44 games as they won the title.
He is widely regarded as one of the best young players in the game, bagging 21 from 44 for PSG last term.
United supposedly want to pair him in a trident with Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku.
And Don Balon claim the Red Devils are willing to sacrifice Anthony Martial in order to get a deal done.
Martial’s form tailed off last term following Sanchez’s arrival from Arsenal in January.
The report indicates that, without Martial, United will have to fork out £238million to sign Mbappe - an amount that would make him the world’s most-expensive payer.
Kylian Mbappe: We are determined to make history
But, with Martial included, Jose Mourinho feels he can be purchased for £167m.
Mbappe is currently on international duty with France and picked up a knock in their 1-1 draw with USA last night.
But, speaking afterwards, the 19-year-old insisted it was nothing serious.
"Ice packs? No, it is just a knock," Mbappe said.
"I hit the ball poorly and I fell - it is nothing serious. It will be treated, and it will go away.”
