NABIL FEKIR to Liverpool is on the brink of completion but the Lyon midfielder’s focus is purely on France for now.
Nabil Fekir will transfer to Liverpool claims expert
Nabil Fekir is currently with the France team as they continue their preparations for the World Cup later this month.
France play USA in Lyon tomorrow and Fekir only has his mind set on the upcoming match despite speculation of his impending move to Liverpool.
“I am happy to head back to my town,” he told FFF TV.
“To see my friends and family. I am delighted."
Liverpool and Lyon have reportedly agreed a £53m fee for his transfer and the 24-year-old has already undergone his medical after club staff flew out to France.
Widespread reports suggested an announcement would be made today but there seems to be a delay in proceedings that could now lead to the Reds confirming the deal tomorrow.
Speaking today, his France team-mate Samuel Umtiti said he hopes the deal is confirmed before his side jet off to Russia.
"The situation of Nabil? I did not talk to him about it,” Umtiti said when asked about Fekir.

“It's better to fix it yourself. I just hope it will be before the World Cup.”
Both players will be in line for a starting spot when Didier Deschamps selects his squad for tomorrow’s match.
It will be the last chance the French boss has to see his players in action before their first game against Australia on June 16.
