Liverpool news: Gary Neville shows Man Utd links with mocking post after Real Madrid loss
LIVERPOOL have been mocked by Manchester United legend Gary Neville after their 3-1 Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid.
Liverpool lost 3-1 to Real Madrid in the Champions League final in Kiev tonight.
The Reds struggled the moment Mohamed Salah limped off, with Gareth Bale scoring twice off the bench and Karim Benzema finding the net for Real.
Neville, given the fact he is a Manchester United legend, wanted Real to take the prize.
And the Sky Sports pundit has now mocked Liverpool on Twitter, after being addressed by DJ Spoony.
Spoony had said: “Mr @GNev2 I've seen your message to your old team mate.
“If we win 2moro you will get a text, video message, Whatsapp message and maybe a couple of dedicated tweets.
“And you can tell your brother the same for him too.”
And Neville has now replied, saying: “As promised mate…
"They thought they’d conquered Europe, Celebrating six
"Thank You Gareth Bale, Made them look like D@@@@
Gary Neville reveals Peter Schmeichel was 'horrible' to him
"The Twenty Sixth of May, Always in our heart
"United won the Treble, The scousers fell apart. Allez Allez Allez.”
Meanwhile, Liverpool legend Mark Lawrenson has urged the Reds to sign players this summer.
“For periods Liverpool had a go, were good in the first 30 minutes, but Real Madrid know how to win football matches,” he said.
“Liverpool need to move on from this, get two or three players to be at this level.”
