Lionel Messi: Sergio Aguero makes startling Barcelona transfer claim
MANCHESTER CITY star Sergio Aguero has ruled out linking up with Lionel Messi at Barcelona.
Sergio Aguero insists he won't be joining Barcelona
Aguero, who won his third Premier League title with Manchester City this season, has continually been linked with a move away from the Etihad.
Pep Guardiola has continually fielded questions over the striker’s future despite the player’s impressive record in front of goal.
His former club Atletico Madrid have been touted as a potential destination as they could sell Antoine Griezmann to Barcelona.
Aguero is currently contracted with City until 2020.
But the chance of joining his Argentina colleague at the Nou Camp appears to be out of the question.
Lionel Messi is unlikely to leave Barcelona
He is going to stay at Barcelona, where he's playing well, and I'll do so at City
“Sincerely, before there was that possibility," he said.
"It is now a question of age for both him and for me.
“He is going to stay at Barcelona, where he's playing well, and I'll do so at City."
Aguero is currently trying to get himself fit for the World Cup after undergoing knee surgery.
And he admits that he feels a lot better, adding: “If I did not get the procedure done, I would've missed the World Cup.
“It's the first time in five years that I can flex my left knee well, without it hurting.”
