Jurgen Klopp reveals how Man City FORCED Liverpool to target Champions League glory
JURGEN KLOPP admits Manchester City’s Premier League form forced him to target the Champions League.
A look back at the Premier League season in numbers
Liverpool brought the curtain down on their Premier League season today with a 4-0 win over Brighton to ensure they finished inside the top four.
But they have a game to play - the small matter of the Champions League final against Kiev in two weeks - before they can pack up for their holidays.
And despite finishing as the third best team in England - 23 points behind champions City - they can rule in Europe if they beat Madrid.
And Klopp admits they’ve had an unbelievable season and had to target success in Europe because City were so good in the league.
"What the boys have done this season is unbelievable,” Klopp said.
“So many injuries to key players. You saw today Lallana came on, we missed him the whole year, I can’t believe it, how we could achieve something like this without a player like him.

It’s an unbelievable achievement. I am really proud of the boys
"Milner couldn’t play today, and Hendo and Gini have 9,000 games in their legs, the three up front try everything, Dom Solanke without match time doing things like this.
“It’s an unbelievable achievement. I am really proud of the boys.
"A nearly perfect season for us. We have had no chance to challenge Man City so then all you can really go for is a Champions League spot."
Mo Salah finished as the Premier League's top scorer with a record 32 goals
Mohamed Salah scored again today to clinch the golden boot with a stunning 32 goals - two clear of Harry Kane, who scored twice today in the 5-4 win over Leicester.
Salah’s goal tally surpasses the previous record held by Cristiano Ronaldo, Luis Suarez and Alan Shearer.
"Congratulations @MoSalah on the new goal-scoring record," the Newcastle legend wrote on Twitter. "I enjoyed it while it lasted."
