Tottenham host Newcastle at Wembley in a crucial clash in their hopes of finishing in the Premier League top four.
Spurs know if they lose and Chelsea beat Huddersfield then they will slip down to fifth in the table.
Ginola spent two years as a Newcastle player before joining Tottenham in 1997, where he helped Spurs to a League Cup triumph in 1999.
He admits it is difficult to choose between his two former sides but is backing Tottenham because 10th-placed Newcastle have nothing to play for in their final two games.
David Ginola has picked who he wants to win between Tottenham and Newcastle
Because Newcastle are 10th and Tottenham fourth and fighting against Chelsea, it’s not quite the same
“Thank you for the question! Next please,” the Frenchman said on talkSPORT.
“It’s very interesting because if they were fighting for the same thing, if Newcastle were in Chelsea’s position fighting for the top four, it would be a tricky question.
“But because Newcastle are 10th and Tottenham fourth and fighting against Chelsea, it’s not quite the same.
“But it comes from emotion, because both clubs have given me a lot.

“Newcastle was my first introduction to English football, I had a good spell with Spurs.
“So it’s very interesting but Newcastle has nothing to (play for), win or lose it doesn’t matter.
“But for Spurs it’s do or die.”
