Salah has run away with the end-of-season awards so far, claiming the PFA and Football Writers’ Player of the Year gongs.
The Egyptian has scored an incredible 43 goals in all competitions for Liverpool, which will surely see him crowned the Reds’ player of the year too.

But McInally reckons Milner deserves a mention, ahead of the likes of Roberto Firmino.
“You can’t deny the fact that James Milner, if Salah hadn’t scored all the goals, has been the player of the season,” the Scot said on Sky Sports.
“In the big games, Milner has been incredibly exceptional.”
Milner retired from international duty in 2016 but McInally reckons England boss Gareth Southgate should try to get him in the World Cup squad this summer

“I don’t think he wants to do it anymore, that’s the thing,” McInally added.
“I’d like to think he’d think that when your country calls you should put everything down and go.”
Milner scored just one goal in his 61 caps for England before retiring.
