Liverpool reached the Champions League final for the first time since 2007 despite losing a dramatic second leg to Roma.
The Reds took a 5-2 lead into the second leg and it took just nine minutes for Sadio Mane to put the visitors further ahead.
However, James Milner scored an unfortunate own goal when Dejan Lovren’s clearance cannoned off the midfielder’s face.
Georginio Wijnaldum's header made it 2-1 (7-3 agg) before three second half goals from Roma gave the visitors plenty of anxious moments in the closing stages.
Andy Robertson knows Liverpool are the underdogs against Real Madrid
But Jurgen Klopp’s side held their nerve to book their place in the final against Real Madrid in Kiev.
And defender Robertson – who only last season was fighting for Premier League survival with Hull – admits being the underdogs against Real could play in Liverpool’s favour.
“What a thing to be involved in. Credit to all the lads, we've come through every challenge we've been set,” he said.
“We'll have a great day in Kiev whatever the result.
“First and foremost, you need to remember you're defending the lead and if you do you're in the final. They threw everything at us and we've done brilliant.
“Last season we were fighting for our lives at Hull, now I feel like I'm at home. I'll certainly enjoy Kiev.
“We'll enjoy this tonight and think about that game another day. They’re so experienced and the last couple of years, they’ve absolutely dominated the Champions League.
“We'll go in as underdogs but sometimes that can be a good thing.
“We’ll try our best, the fans will get a great day out and we’ll have a great day.
“Hopefully we can bring the trophy back.”
