Steven Gerrard has called for Liverpool and Roma fans to behave themselves tonight
Liverpool were widely criticised for throwing objects at Manchester City’s team coach in the first leg of their quarter-final clash at Anfield last month.
The Reds host Roma tonight in the Champions League semi-final first leg.
Roma players will soon be arriving at Anfield as fans also converge on the stadium.
And Liverpool legend Gerrard has implored supporters to behave.
“I think this is a fantastic fixture for Roma, I think it’s a fantastic fixture for Liverpool,” Gerrard said on Roma’s Twitter account.

Let’s make sure both sets of supporters behave in the right way
“I think both clubs respect each other and have really big support. I think the message is let’s enjoy the occasion and the two different games and make sure everyone enjoys the games.
“We don’t want to be talking about incidents after the game, we want everyone to be safe.
“We want it to be a fantastic football spectacle where everyone can go and enjoy the games with their families and everyone goes home after the game safe and there’s no incidents.
“I think that’s important because everyone lives and health are more important than a game of football.
Liverpool fans threw objects at Manchester City's bus in the quarter-final
“I’m sure the players are going to provide two excellent football matches, let’s make sure both sets of supporters behave in the right way.”
Liverpool apologised after the incident against City, which rendered the away team’s bus out of order.
Reds manager Jurgen Klopp has also implored fans to behave before, during and after the game.
Thousands of Roma fans are in Merseyside for the showdown tonight, with the reverse fixture in Rome set for next Wednesday.
