Liverpool urged to make these TWO signings to challenge Man City for the title
LIVERPOOL need to make at least two big signings if they are to challenge Manchester City for the Premier League title next season.
Jan Oblak has been on Liverpool's radar
Those are the thoughts of Sky Sports pundit Ian Wright.
Liverpool, who are set for a top-four finish, are one of only two teams to beat Manchester City this campaign.
With the chance of Champions League glory on offer, Jurgen Klopp could add to the Anfield outfit’s trophy cabinet.
Liverpool are expected to be busy again in the summer window and have money to spend after the £142million sale of Philippe Coutinho in January.
A goalkeeper has been identified as a priority with doubts persisting over Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius.
They’re not a million miles away from City and City will be afraid of them
Although Klopp strengthened his defence in the last window with the £75m deal for Virgil van Dijk, it is still an area for concern.
Wright thinks the Reds can mount a title challenge as long as they make at least two signings.
And he reckons the likes of Atletico Madrid shot-stopper Jan Oblak and Tottenham’s Toby Alderweireld would be perfect.
“I think that if Liverpool are going to definitely challenge City next season, they need to get a goalkeeper like Jan Oblak, that top keeper who will win you games,” Wright told The Debate.

“Someone like Toby Alderweireld too. I don’t know if they are looking at him, but he’s someone they should be looking at.
“They need to get that quality, confident player in there.
