Trent Alexander-Arnold: BT Sport pundit makes huge claim on Liverpool star
LIVERPOOL teenager Trent Alexander-Arnold is already as good as England right-backs Kyle Walker and Kieran Trippier, says Jermaine Jenas.
Trent Alexander-Arnold has been in fine form for Liverpool
Alexander-Arnold has been a regular for Liverpool this season due to the long-term injury to Nathaniel Clyne.
The academy graduate has impressed many with his performances, especially in the Champions League quarter-final win over Manchester City.
Tottenham’s Kieran Trippier and Manchester City’s Kyle Walker are England manager Gareth Southgate’s two first-choice right-backs.
But Jenas believes Alexander-Arnold should be part of the World Cup this summer, even at the expense of one of his more senior rivals.
People want to talk about him for England, I think actually whatever Kieran Trippier has got, he’s got that
“He (Jurgen Klopp) sees him day in, day out in training,” Jenas said on BT Sport.
“He’s obviously got a mentality about him Trent that makes him have the ability to bounce back from those moments.
“People want to talk about him for England, I think actually whatever Kieran Trippier has got, he’s got that.
“He’s also got the athleticism of Kyle Walker.
Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold scores STUNNING free kick
Jenas says Trent Alexander-Arnold is already one of England's best full-backs
“I think I would (take him to the World Cup), yeah.
“He’s the perfect blend of both those players.
“He’s given Gareth Southgate a headache, which is a credit to the lad.”
