Chelsea player ratings against Southampton: Morata woeful as Giroud rescues Blues
CHELSEA came from two goals down to beat Southampton, but plenty of Blues players underperformed in the 3-2 win at St Mary's.
Which Chelsea players impressed during their win over Southampton?
An impressive cameo performance from Olivier Giroud saw Chelsea come from two goals behind to earn victory against Southampton.
The French striker stepped off the bench to hit a second-half double and push Saints closer to relegation.
The home side had taken the lead through Dusan Tadic after 20 minutes, then Jan Bednarek doubled the lead on his debut with a back post volley after the break.
Giroud was brought on after an hour for the ineffective Alvaro Morata and sparked a superb revival, scoring either side of Eden Hazard’s smart finish as Chelsea shocked their hosts.
