PEP GUARDIOLA has been sent to the stands at half-time of Manchester City's clash with Liverpool.
Pep Guardiola OFF: Manchester City boss has been dismissed against Liverpool
Manchester City currently lead Liverpool 1-0 courtesy of Gabriel Jesus' early goal.
But they will have to salvage their Champions League tie without Pep Guardiola after the Spaniard was sent to the stands.
Liverpool have been on the back foot against City so far and, arguably, have benefitted from several refereeing decisions.
They were unlucky early on when Raheem Sterling appeared to foul Virgil van Dijk in the build-up to Jesus' goal.
But, since then, the Reds have been fortunate.
Sadio Mane received just a yellow for a wild lunge on Nicolas Otamendi.
City players were furious at that decision with goalkeeper Ederson confronting Mane angrily. The duo had also clashed earlier in the season.
The home side also had a goal ruled out for offside, though replays show that decision to be marginal.
Guardiola was seen storming onto the pitch at the interval.
And the Spaniard will now have to watch the rest of the match from the sidelines.
