Danny Murphy picks two Liverpool stars who will be key against Man City… not Mo Salah
LIVERPOOL hero Danny Murphy has revealed who he thinks will be key to the Champions League quarter-final second leg against Manchester City tomorrow.
Liverpool face Man City in the Champions League quarter-final second leg on Tuesday
Liverpool go into the clash at the Etihad 3-0 up after the first leg at Anfield last week.
Goals from Mohamed Salah, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Sadio Mane put Manchester City to the sword.
But it is the more defensive-minded players that Murphy was impressed with the most in Manchester.
He says captain Jordan Henderson and his midfield partner James Milner are key to getting the right result in the second leg.
I’ve criticised Milner, but he was unbelievable and Henderson
“I think it’s going to be imperative in the middle of the park,” Murphy said on talkSPORT.
“I’ve criticised Milner, but he was unbelievable and Henderson.
“I’m not talking about with it, I’m talking about without the ball.
“Doing those yards, pressing, covering, making sure nobody has it easy.”

Murphy has also been impressed by centre-back Virgil van Dijk, who joined Liverpool from Southampton in January.
“I think he’s a real class act,” he added.
“I don’t know about you, but when I watch him, he sort of plays in a low gear.
“He’s so calm, he always looks like he’s got more in the tank when he needs it.
“He’s a presence isn’t he and I think he’s been a big, big plus for Liverpool.”
