Man Utd comeback was PREDICTED by Gary Neville at half-time of Man City game
GARY NEVILLE predicted Manchester United would make a stunning comeback against Manchester City.
Man Utd legend Gary Neville predicted a comeback... which Paul Pogba inspired
United put in an abysmal first-half performance and went in at the break 2-0 down at the Etihad after Vincent Kompany and Ilkay Gundogan both netted.
But Neville’s former club came roaring back after half-time in one of the most memorable 45 minutes of football of the season.
Paul Pogba netted a quickfire double to get them level before Chris Smalling bagged a shock winner.
The United win means City will have to wait until they are crowned Premier League champions.
Their fans wouldn’t have given them a prayer at half-time but Neville had more hope than most.
Man City fans celebrate but they were turned over by arch rivals Man Utd
His co-commentator on the game, Martin Tyler, revealed: “I have to tell you that off-air, at half-time, Gary Neville said to me ‘I think United will get a couple of goals’.
”You were wrong, they got three.”
Sky Sports man Neville responded: “Yeah, there was just something when they missed those chances.
”You just knew if they scored one, there would be some level of anxiety but I haven’t expected to see what I’ve seen.
“But it was hopeless for 20 minutes before half-time for United. They really did shrink.
“But they’ve come back and now have some confidence and belief and City look like they are wilting.”
