Barcelona news: Spain's top transfer guru rejects Nou Camp proposal
TRANSFER guru Monchi has rejected the idea of joining Barcelona.
Transfer guru Monchi says he has never been tempted by Barcelona
Monchi is known in Spain as one of the top talent finders in football.
He used to work for Sevilla and was responsible for the signings of Dani Alves, Adriano, Seydou Keita, Ivan Rakitic - all players Barcelona have since snapped up.
The former Sevilla goalkeeper is now director of football at Roma.
And he insists there has been no contact with Barcelona over a move to the Nou Camp.
“I’ve been asked about that topic many times but nobody from Barcelona ever called me,” he said.

“There have always been rumours but I've never spoken about that subject directly."
In the interview with Marca, it was also put to Monchi that Barca could save a lot of money by simply employing him to find the world’s best players, rather than buying them off Sevilla or Roma.
But he insists there is no need for him to be in Catalonia.
“No. At Barcelona, there have always been very good sporting directors,” he said.
“I’ve been asked a lot about that because a lot happened but it is a normal step.
Monchi now works for Roma
“They study the sporting, competitive and maturity level of a player at Sevilla.
“It is logical because high demands are set (at Sevilla), although maybe not as much as Barcelona.
“It is the same league and there is an adaptation to the language and to the country.
“We should turn the argument around and note that the players also did a good job when they left Sevilla, as have Barcelona's sporting directors."
