Real Madrid news: Bayern Munich chief delivers Robert Lewandowski transfer bombshell
ROBERT LEWANDOWKSKI will not be joining Real Madrid next season.
Robert Lewandowski has been heavily linked with Real Madrid this year
That is according to Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.
Lewandowski is one of the most sought-after strikers in world football after his consistent form in the Bundesliga over the last eight years.
The Polish hitman has 32 goals to his name so far this term.
And Zinedine Zidane is reportedly interested in bringing him to the Santiago Bernabeu in the summer.
But Rummenigge insists Bayern are not prepared to let their prized-possession go.
"I like to assume that Robert is 100 percent going to play at Bayern Munich next season," he told German outlet Kicker.
Robert Lewandowski has been in inspired form once again this season
Nobody can buy a Bayern Munich player against the will of Bayern Munich
"What should motivate us to take a different direction?
"I always like to remember the year 2008, when we had an amazing offer from Chelsea for Franck Ribery.
"From that day on, the whole world of football knew, nobody can buy a Bayern Munich player against the will of Bayern Munich."
Madrid are in need of some fresh faces in their attacking line.
Despite winning both the Champions League and La Liga last term, Los Blancos have struggled so far this season.
Zidane's side sit third in the table, 15 points behind leaders Barcelona.
Lewandowski is currently on international duty with Poland.
