Arsenal and Tottenham given Malcom boost as Bayern Munich pull out of transfer race
ARSENAL and Tottenham have been given an unexpected boost in their pursuit of Bordeaux star Malcom by Bayerm Munich.
Malcom was on Arsenal and Tottenham's radars in January
Reports earlier this month indicated Bayern Munich are exploring a deal for the 21-year-old ahead of the summer window.
Malcolm has already turned the heads of Arsenal and Tottenham and has netted eight times in Ligue 1 for Bordeaux this term.
Although the Gunners explored a deal for the Brazilian in January, they ended up splashing out a club-record fee of £55.5million to bring Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Borussia Dortmund.
Spurs meanwhile, were looking at potential cover for Harry Kane, however decided against a deal.
I don't think there is interest here. He always gets put into the shopping window
While Malcom was thought to be on Bayern’s radar, head coach Jump Heynckes has categorically denied the Bundesliga giants want to sign him.
“I have never seen him play," Heynckes said.
"Therefore, I am not able give an opinion on him.
"But I don't think there is interest here. He always gets put into the shopping window but nobody really goes after him."
Malcom tried to issue a come-and-get-me plea in January when he said: “I will choose the team, and Bordeaux will let me go. I already said that I would have liked to leave this winter to meet new challenges.

“But I must also remember that Bordeaux helped me a lot.
"I gave my word to Bordeaux that I will continue [with the club] to be able to have more time to choose my future club.
"These next three or four months will make a big difference."
