Real Madrid news: Cristiano Ronaldo gives 'green light' to Mohamed Salah transfer swoop
CRISTIANO RONALDO has reportedly urged Real Madrid to sign Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah.
Cristiano Ronaldo shows off skills in Real Madrid training
Egypt international Salah has set the Premier League alight since joining Liverpool from Italian giants Roma last summer.
He has scored 36 goals in 41 appearances for the Reds and is, unsurprisingly, attracting attention.
Salah has been linked with a move to Real Madrid, who are set to revamp their squad in the summer.
And, according to Spanish publication Don Balon, Los Blancos superstar Ronaldo believes he would be the perfect replacement for Gareth Bale and has given the 'green light' to a transfer.
Wales international Bale has struggled with injuries during the last 18 months and will reportedly be sold in the summer to raise funds.
Salah bagged four goals in Liverpool’s 5-0 romp against Watford on Saturday to climb to the top of the Premier League Golden Boot standings.
Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly urged Real Madrid to sign Mohamed Salah from Liverpool
And Don Balon say Ronaldo believes Salah’s goalscoring ability and speed makes him an ideal acquisition.
Salah has drawn comparisons to Ronaldo’s rival Lionel Messi thanks to his quick feet and deadly nature in the box.
However, speaking after Liverpool’s victory against Watford, Jurgen Klopp was keen to downplay the similarities between the two forwards.
When asked if Salah could be mentioned in the same breath as Messi, Klopp said: “Mo is on the way, that’s good. I don’t think that Mo wants - or anybody else wants - to be compared with Lionel Messi.
Mohamed Salah has been electric for Liverpool this season
“He is the one that is doing what he is doing and it feels like [he has been] for 20 years or so.
“The last player I know that had the same influence on a team performance [as Messi] was Diego Maradona, I think.
“Yes, Mo is on a fantastic way, that’s for sure, but how it always is in life, if you have the skills then you have to show it constantly. His consistency is very good for us.
“It helps, he helps us a lot, the boys love playing together with him, he loves playing with them, so it’s good.”
Meanwhile, Ronaldo has reportedly given the ‘green light’ to a swoop for Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah.
