Jamie Carragher makes huge top four claim on Manchester United and Chelsea
MANCHESTER UNITED will all but guarantee their place in the Premier League top four if they beat Crystal Palace tonight.
Jamie Carragher reckons Manchester United will finish in the Premier League top four
That is the opinion of Sky Sports pundit and former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher.
Manchester United will move up to second if they beat Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
That would put them nine points clear of Chelsea with nine games of the season remaining.
Carragher says Chelsea would not be able to catch United if they take all three points from the Eagles.
Points are getting dropped there so I don’t see any problem with Manchester United now and the top four
He says the Blues will drop too many points in their remaining games before the end of the campaign.
“I think it does (effectively confirm top four if United win),” Carragher said.
“On the back of Chelsea’s result yesterday (against Manchester City) and Chelsea have to play Liverpool, Chelsea have to play Spurs.
“Points are getting dropped there so I don’t see any problem with Manchester United now and the top four.
Utd: Martial and Rashford won't be comfortable, says Wright
Carragher says victory over Crystal Palace will all but secure Man Utd a top-four place
“That was the talk maybe a few weeks ago, there was a couple of iffy results that they had.
“But, the position they’re in now, I think if they win tonight, and the fact Chelsea play two of their rivals, I think they’ll have no problem.
“Now it will be about can they get second.”
