Arsenal vs Man City: Pep Guardiola reveals injury blow ahead of Carabao Cup final
MANCHESTER CITY are sweating on the fitness of forward Raheem Sterling ahead of Sunday’s Carabao Cup final against Arsenal (4.30pm).
Arsenal vs Man City: Raheem Sterling is an injury doubt
Sterling, 23, picked up a knock in last week’s Champions League romp against Swiss outfit FC Basel and faces a race against time to make the Wembley showpiece.
“He has a muscular problem,” Pep Guardiola said. “He had it against Basel.
“I don't know if he will be ready for Sunday.”
Gabriel Jesus is also a doubt but he could make the bench after coming through three training sessions in the week.
When asked about the Brazil striker, Guardiola said: “We will see.”
Manchester City team news: Will Leroy Sane start against Arsenal in the Carabao Cup final?
I don't know if he will be ready for Sunday
Claudio Bravo, who has started all of City’s domestic cup games this season, will start between the sticks instead of Ederson.
“He deserves to play in the final,” Guardiola said. “Without him we would not be here.
“He's going to play.”
Guardiola can pick up his first silverware in England if City beat Arsenal but he is not interested in personal glory.
“We are here to try to win titles,” he said. “We are involved in three and will try to win them.”
