The England man is the Premier League's top scorer with 23 goals.
But Ferdinand is more impressed with the England striker’s hold-up play and says he is the complete striker.
“I think what I saw in them games against Manchester United and Arsenal, yes he scored (against Arsenal), but I think now he doesn’t even need to score to affect games,” the Ferdinand said on BT Sport.
“That’s a great trait to have as a centre forward.
He brings people into the game, his all-round game is so well rounded now. He is the all-round No 9

Ferdinand has impressed by the all-round play of Harry Kane
“He’s so efficient at the moment, he’s lethal in front of goal,” Gerrard said.
“But I agree with the lads, his all-round game to me seems to have improved.
“His hold-up play, his vision, awareness. I just think the runners off him are so effective because he secures the ball.
“As a midfielder, sometimes you don’t make those runs if the ball breaks down.”
