The 22-year-old has forced his way back into Mourinho’s first team since the turn of the year, starting five of the last seven games.
Shaw has 18 months left on his current £80,000-a-week terms after Old Trafford chiefs triggered an automatic extension.
But, according to the Daily Mirror, he will be handed a long-term deal to commit his future to the club.
Shaw joined United from Southampton for £27million in 2014 and endured a mixed debut campaign before breaking his leg a year later.

Luke Shaw is set to win a long-term Manchester United contract
He returned to fitness after Mourinho replaced Louis van Gaal in the dugout but struggled to win over the Portuguese, who repeatedly criticised his fitness and performances.
However, Shaw’s return to form has been noted by Mourinho in recent weeks.
Speaking last month, he said: "I'm really happy and, I can say that in this moment I don't see many left-backs better than this Luke Shaw."

Shaw will be hoping to start when United travel to Newcastle on Sunday (2.15pm).
He has made 12 appearances in all competitions this term but will be hoping to gatecrash his way into the England squad for the World Cup.
The Kingston-born ace has not featured for the Three Lions since making a cameo appearance in a 1-0 defeat against Germany last March.
