Anthony Martial told what he must do after Man Utd sign Alexis Sanchez
MANCHESTER UNITED star Anthony Martial must become a more consistent player after the arrival of Alexis Sanchez.
Paul Scholes: Rashford and Martial are not enjoying Man United
That is the view of ESPN FC pundit and former Chelsea midfielder Craig Burley.
Martial has been in fine form for Manchester United of late, scoring in each of his last three Premier League appearances.
The Frenchman has not always been a regular starter under Jose Mourinho but has taken his opportunities in recent weeks.
But with Alexis Sanchez joining from Arsenal last Monday, many are wondering who he will replace in Mourinho’s starting XI in the league.
Anthony Martial must perform on a regular basis at Man United, says Craig Burley
He’s a frustrating player because he has got so much talent but he needs to do it on a more regular basis
Burley has no doubts over Martial’s talent and believes he has improved since arriving at Manchester United.
But he admits the 22-year-old’s lack of consistency can be frustrating.
“Martial’s got stronger, Martial’s a very good player,” Burley said.
“He’s a frustrating player because he has got so much talent but he needs to do it on a more regular basis.
“He’s got the pace, he’s got the quick feet, he’s got the ability, he’s got the strength and the power.”
Martial has scored 36 goals in 123 appearances for United.
