Newport knocked Championship giants Leeds out of the competition in Round Three to set up the clash with Tottenham at Rodney Parade.
The League Two side were on the brink of securing one of the most famous upsets in FA Cup history thanks to Padraig Amond’s first-half header but Harry Kane spared Spurs’ blushes with an 82nd-minute equaliser to set up a replay.
Writing on Twitter, one Leeds fan said: “Come on Newport! You’re making us look less s***!”
Another added: “Leeds losing to Newport looks so much better now.”

While a third wrote: “I’ll feel less embarrassed about #lufc going out to Newport, just because they've played well against Spurs!”
However, a number of Leeds fans struggled to find solace in Tottenham’s difficult evening.
One supporter said: “Maybe this makes us feel a little bit less s*** about our Newport performance? No. No, it f****** does not.”
While another added: “Seeing Newport having a real go at Spurs slightly eases the pain of not playing a proper side against them. Only slightly though…”
