ALEXIS SANCHEZ has chosen to join Manchester United over Manchester City because of one reason - money.

That is the opinion of former Arsenal forward turned Sky Sports pundit Charlie Nicholas.
Sanchez is close to completing a move to Manchester United and is set to earn a staggering £500,000-a-week.
Manchester City were initially the favourites to sign the Chile international this month after failing in a move last summer.
However, with Sanchez’s contract up at the end of this season, City were only prepared to offer £20million to Arsenal.

Sanchez has made a decision on that because of the salary I would imagine
Nicholas was asked why Arsenal are selling to a rival and admitted they have no power to stop it.
“They have to let him go,” the Scot said.
“What’s the choices? Sanchez is in pole position, he can dictate to them.
“If PSG were to come in he could say ‘I’m not going to PSG, I’m going to Man City or Man United’.

“He’s made a decision on that because of the salary I would imagine.
“So they’ve exposed themselves in this situation which has put them where they are, so they couldn’t control it.”
Alexis Sanchez will join United having scored eight goals in 22 games for Arsenal this season.
