Alexis Sanchez: Jim White reveals 'strong hint' on Man Utd deal for Arsenal ace
ALEXIS SANCHEZ is heading to Manchester United, according to Jim White.
Arsene Wenger: Sanchez could leave in next 48 hours
Sanchez was omitted from Arsenal’s squad as they lost to Bournemouth this afternoon.
Manchester United tabled a bid earlier this week as they looked to rival Manchester City for the Chile star.
And they look close to winning the race according to Sky Sports presenter White.
He tweeted: “Just had strong hint from top source that @ManUtd looking like the next destination for Sanchez. Not done yet though.”
Earlier today Arsene Wenger claimed a deal could complete within 48 hours.
Alexis Sanchez looks set to head to Manchester United
"It could happen today, tomorrow or not at all. I didn’t want to travel with him and then he goes somewhere," Wenger said.
“It will be decided in the next 48 hours
“It was difficult for him because he was on standby a little bit.”
City had believed they were in the clear for Sanchez and could get him now on the cheap or free in the summer.
But the dynamics changed with United entering the race and City not willing to match their bid.
Arsenal want £35m and United are prepared to pay that plus around £10m in agent fees while City will not go above £20m.
City had already agreed terms with Sanchez but are willing to lose him completely rather than pay over the odds.
